The associate’s degree is an undergraduate degree that requires 60 credit hours completed. The degree typically accounts for two years of college. An associate’s degree is divided into three categories of requirements; general education, major specific education, and electives. The majority of associates degrees are earned threw community colleges or a junior college, but they are offered by some Universities. Even though the associate’s degree is the lowest level of all degrees, it can earn you twice the salary of a high school graduate.
The transfer degrees and professional degree are the two different types of associate’s degrees. Transfer degrees form the base of a Bachelor's degree by allowing students to finish some or all of the general education requirements to transfer to a Bachelor's degree program. Professional associates degrees qualify students for entry level positions that do not require a Bachelor’s degree.
